I am in need of new equip. as my Yamaha 2095 is going south. I have 6 ohm Martin-Logan Aeon's main, Atlantic Tech center and rears, Velodyne HGS 10 sub. I do not run 7.1 yet but wonder if buying the 755 now and wishing I had the 770 in six months is the right thing to do. Any thoughts on my eqip. working well with Outlaw stuff or the amp issue. Help!

The speakers would work fine with their a 755 or a 770. I know someone driving Martin Logan Aeon's with a Classe 100Wx2 amp and a Cinema center with one channel of an Outlaw 7100 amp, and Outlaw once posted here that they have used Atlantic Tech speakers with their equipment during product development and testing.

If you get a 755 now and you do go to 7.1 eventually, there is the option of adding a two-channel amp or a pair of Model 200 monoblocks at that time, but if you think it would be feasible to add two more speakers in your room and if that option appeals to you, getting the 770 now will make that upgrade more painless.

I went the 770 route. I use all seven channels for movies, television and often even for music.

Some folks that do a lot of stereo only listening who started with a 5.1 system and later expanded to 7.1 have expressed a preference for having 2 M200's driving their front left and right speakers, and a 755 for the center and four surrounds. That way, when listening to stereo only, their 755 remains off.

If one's music listening includes a fair amount of SACD/DVD-A, or prefers one of the surround sound modes even for stereo sources, or if one doesn't mind idle channels, then perhaps stereo only amplification becomes less important.

I went with the 755 then regretted not going with the 7 channel. I ended up with another seperate 3 channel amp (earthquake) that is even bigger and heavier than the 5 channel Outlaw. Needless to say this takes up a lot of space.

I like the 3 Channel for my stereo listening, it puts out 100 watts per channel more than my 755. But if I could do it over again I would just get the 770 which would have saved me $$ and space.
