I own a 1050. I got out the old sound meter & tried to adjust the sound levels for the speakers & found out they wont stay. Am I missing something here? I hit TEST on the remote & adjust the volume to 75db from my sitting position using the meter. Then the next cycle the speakers show the same results as before I made the adjustments.
Thanks for any advice.

I'm a little unclear...(it's early).

Is it the master volume that your changing to 75db ? If the 1050 is like the 950, master volume should be set to 00db and individual channels (speakers) should be adjusted accordingly and individually via the trim controls. Depending on your room, your master volume would be set to 00db and your front left (for example) could be individually set for, say, -2db and the front right could be +1db and so on. This is what would give equal channel (speaker) balance.
As you increase or decrease the master volume control, the individual speaker settings would remain the same.
If I'm way off base, I apologize.
Does the trim levels on the 1050 have a "set" or "memory" button?

The trick here is to turn up the volume so that the test tone from the mains is around 75dB (C-weighted, slow). There's no level adjustment for the mains. Once you've got the volume there (maybe around 65 or so on the 1050's volume control, but that's just a ballpark guess), use the test tones to measure the center and surrounds. Use the trim controls for center, surround, and sub to adjust those up or down to hit the 75dB or close to it. The sub will probably have to be done by ear, or you can refer to this page at SVS for some idea of the meter's error at low frequencies.
