Hello! I was wondering if the 950 will create a phantom center image if hooked up to the 6 channel analog input with no center speaker set?

I was about to get some cables to try it with my PC soundcard (that allows my PC to act as a DVD-A drive, not sure yet if it also does SACD), but I decided I should check here first before spending a good amount of time hooking it all up!

Because the 950 does not apply any digital processing to the six channel analog input, it cannot create a phantom center. In order to use DVD-A and/or SACD in a 4.1 setup, the player would need to take care of the phantom center for you - and I'm not sure how many players (conventional players or PC software players) do that.

Thanks, Gonk. I guess I will need to load up the software manual first, and see what I can find. I think its quite possible that it will allow it considering that many people don't have 5.1 computer speaker setups either. I'm very satisfied with PLII-M with most of my regular CDs that I won't be too disappointed if I don't have to start buying new DVD-As!
