So I've had a Model 950 for a while now, and recently decided to hook up the FM antenna so I could listen to NPR.

So. . .I grab the FM antenna, look on the back of the unit to figure out where it goes. . .and I don't see anything.

So I open up the manual, find the spot, and there it is. Problem is, the FM antenna connector looks to be a coax connection, whereas the FM antenna itself is just two bare wires.

What gives?

Did you grab the AM antenna, perchance? The AM antenna (plastic loop with wire wrapped around it) has two bare wires for the termination, and there are two spring clips on the unit to connect to. The FM antenna that ships with the 950 is a long wire that branches into two (as I vividly recall, since my cat got his teeth on one branch when I was setting up in a new entertainment center last year and chewed one branch off) and has a simple coax plug at the end to go to the FM antenna connection.

Go to Rat Shack and buy a 300 ohm to 75 ohm adapter. Connect the two ends of the antenna to the screw posts and then push the 75 ohm part into the 950.
