I'm trying to decide whether to get the Outlaw 1050 or Onkyo TX-SR600. The both are the same price and have 6.1 surround sound. Any Advice?

Great is time,the Onkyo has component video switching,the Outlaw does not.The Outlaw has pre-amp outputs for all 6.1 channels,the Onkyo does not.The Onkyo has dolby-pro2,the Outlaw does not.The Outlaw handles 4 ohms,the Onkyo does not.Now the sound on the Outlaw i think,(i know is better)then the Onkyo;plus you get to demo the Outlaw on your own home,my recomendation would be to try the Outlaw in your home and you will find out if that's what your looking for.The truth is on the DEMO.....

I was in the same boat as you. I waited until Onkyo came out with their new receivers to demo them, before I would demo the Outlaw and end up paying all the shipping costs to return it if I didn't like it. I ended up keeping the Onkyo. I was very impressed with it's sound both in 2 channel and in HT. Having DPL2 and DTS Neo 6 is a big bonus, especially if you still watch VHS and also reg. TV and even channels like Cinamax don't broadcast in DD, so DPL2 works great. Also the Onkyo has DTS-ES and DD-EX for any movies that you will watch and have the 6 channel set-up. At the moment the component swiching is not needed, but I hope to use in the future. The remote is a great learning remote which is the only one I need. All the fuss I have been reading about the Onkyo's power over in HTF is a bunch of crock. It is all the power anyone would ever need in a HT. I would try the Onkyo first at home and if your not happy with it, then try out the Outlaw.

I changed my mind again...I think i will be going for the new Denon 1803 instead of the 1050. It's the same price as the 1050 and the SR-600(i even saw the 1803 for $409 online), but just like the SR-600 it has DD-EX/DTS-ES/Neo 6/Pro-LogicII...it also has preouts. Hey Slipknot! you might as well go with Denon rather than Onkyo. I really wanted the 1050 but the as months went by...the 1050 seems to be getting older and older when it comes to features. True, the 1050 may sound better but i just can't pass on these DD-EX/DTS-ES/Pro-LogicII. I already have a DD/DTS reciever and if i would buy a new one, i might as well get one with a full fledged DD-EX and of course i gotta have my DTS-ES. DTS is a must!!! I do watch DVD's in DTS more than DD. Just like Plumberman, i can use the DPLII with my Direct TV.

I would go for the Denon for now until maybe Outlaw (Hello!!! is Outlaw Audio listening? ) comes out with a new receiver (well they said not anytime soon). Man! i really wanted the 1050 but i just can pass on these new features which i can really use.
