Ok, since I can't buy the 990 yet, I'm still playing with my 950 and have a question.

If the sub is set to "OFF", will the LFE input of the 6ch analog inputs get routed to the front L/R if they are set to large??

The analog six channel input operates independently of all digital processing - including the setting in the menu that determines whether the sub is present or not. Setting the sub to "off" will redirect the LFE to the mains for digital inputs or regular analog inputs, but it will have no effect on the sub channel of the multichannel analog input.

Thank you for responding gonk, that is what I expected. It's actually a good thing in as I'd prefer that the 950 do as little as possible to the analog signals in bypass mode.

More question. Is the speaker distance delay setting digital or analog processing? Should I set the delay on the DVD player if I'm using the 6ch analog inputs? I found out that Channel Trim/Calib was being applied to the 6ch analog inputs using SPL meter. But I couldn't tell whether the distance delay is done on the 950 or not.

Maybe I didn't understand your post but I believe the menu setting will work for the sub being present or not present. I'll have to check but I believe on my system I can disable the sub in the menu when using the 6ch inputs and typically enable it when watching a movie through the digital input. I'll have to get back to you guys on Saturday....

I only do this so I don't get the double bass which would drive my nieghbors silly.

The speaker distance delays are not applied to the six channel analog input.

So in this case the speaker distance should be set withing the player? Couldn't that be a problem if your player uses the same speaker settings for digital output as it does for multi-channel output? ie speaker distance being applied twice when using digital signal from the player.

Your player shouldn't use the speaker settings for digital output - it should pass the digital signal unaltered to the receiver - so you shouldn't have distance settings applied twice. As far as I know, that's true of all DVD players.
