Channel Trim Question

Hello all, I just stumbled onto something that seems somewhat peculiar to me. Not sure if it's normal or not. I noticed that if I change the trim for my front L & R channels while in stereo bypass mode, I can't hear the change. And by that I mean, there is no changel in the level of sound. (verified using SPL meter) If I change the trim while in 6-channel bypass I DO hear the level change. Normal? Don't really care either way, just want to make sure my 950 is working as designed... As an FYI, I have the 6 channel analog out from my Denon 2900 into the 5.1 analog on the 950 and the stereo analog out of the 2900 into the DVD analog in on the 950.
As always, thanks in advance.

painttoad,
Thanks for the speedy reply. That was my thought too. But shouldn't it behave the same in both analog bypass modes?
