Hi guys/gals, I had to temporarily remove a center chanel from my 950 so I set the speaker settings to reflect NO center channel. Now that I added a new center channel back into the system and set the speaker settings to indicate I have a center a weird problem happens. I can send a test tone from the 950 to the speakers to calibrate the levels, but when I put in a 5.1 dvd, I get no sound from the center channel! HELP!! Ray

when in dvd do you have the center set to on/yes. does your dvd player decode the sound, if so maybe the speaker is set wrong there... dont have a 950, so i can only guess...

A couple of questions... Is the signal being re-directed to the mains, or is the signal being lost entirely? If the speaker is bi-wired or bi-wire capable, are both binding posts hooked up correctly? Have you tried several DVD's to verify that it is not a case of software with no active center channel data? ------------------ gonk -- 950 Review | LFM-1 Review | Pre/Pro Comparison Chart | Saloon Links

That's odd. So it's only Dolby Digital 5.1 material, or is it also Pro Logic II and DTS? Or is it only the DVD input? I'm sure Outlaw can help you get it hammered out. ------------------ gonk -- 950 Review | LFM-1 Review | Pre/Pro Comparison Chart | Saloon Links

I had a problem somewhat similar, there was no CC voice audio on 5.1 but PLII seemed OK. Turned out PLII was actually doing the same but the L and R fronts were compensating for the deficiency. After months of agony I found out my Paradigm CC-370 v2 had a blown tweeter.

Rayban,
Did you ever get an answer from the Outlaws as to what the fix would be?
Thanks,

Hi i'm new on this site but not to home theater, i had just a quick question for member Garrett Adams.... Hi i'm Jeff Adams (what r the odds) anyways i also have a paradig cc-370 v.2 that has just blown the tweeter, just found out today, it had seperated itself from the dome to the magnet and the voice coil was starting to unravel and come out. Anyways my questions to you was what did you do to get a new one? please help me out. Thanks Jeff Adams

I don't think I ever overdrove the speaker. My guess is there was a problem in some of the drivers in the shipped in a batch of CC-370's.
My local Paradigm dealer took care of the tweeter replacement on the premises. They had some tweeter parts on hand but were missing something that had to be ordered from the factory. It was during the Christmas holidays and my dealer is a combo photo/audio/video dealer so I had to wait about a month. In the interim I reverted to a retired Energy Take 1 center speaker that filled the bill nicely.
