1. I would expect any and all commands from your TV's remote to be able to be learned by the 950's remote. Are there any specific ones that are being problematic.

2. Yep. The 950's remote is an SL-9000 with the LCD display removed. It will perform all of the same functions.

3. This behavior may take some getting used to, but it can also be extremely convenient in a system where the pre/pro is always used for handling the audio (particularly for users who don't use it regularly or spouses who don't want to have the new toy get in the way of them watching TV).

Best of luck in getting the remote squared away. As with all universal remotes, it can take a while, but it's a pretty decent remote once you get there.
