I got my 1050 today and am loving it so far. The remote codes have all gone in flawlessly, but due to the massive amount of buttons on each individual component's remote, there are a few key ones I'm missing.

If the button on the Outlaw remote doesn't perform and function for that particualr component, is there a way to program it??

There is some information out there on how to program the family of remotes using the JP1 interface (making a serial cable from PC to remote), but short of that the 1050's remote can not learn new functions.

My Saloon Links has some remote-related goodies that might be of help. Hi-Fi Remote is a site that deals specifically with the Cinema7 and Radio Shack 15-1994 families of remotes (which includes the Catalyst 48 that the 1050 uses). I haven't checked them out in a long while, but there is a jp1 group at Yahoo as well as some info on jp1 at Hi-Fi Remote . This thread may also make for some good reading. I never did messed with the JP1 interface on my 1050's remote, so I don't know how much work is involved or what sort of snags might be typical.

What you need to look for is the advanced code list for the device you are programming. Sometimes there is a code that is not included on the pre-programmed list. ON the hifi-remote site, go to the Advanced Code List section, find the device code for your device (hopefully it is listed), and find the button that is missing (also hopefully). Use the 9-9-4 sequence to program that button in. Look on the site for more info on this function and how to use it. You DO NOT need the JP1 cable to do this.

If you haven't done so already read through the site. You'll have the remote walking your dog when you're done.
