A few scenarios that can be done:
1) Subs in towers driven by left/right channel signals (with speaker's internal crossovers handling distribution of bass). In this scenario, the subwoofer gets the LFE and gets redirected bass from "small" center and surrounds, while the mains are set to "large" and handle their own bass. (Note that it is still possible to set a crossover for the "large" speakers, but that crossover is ignored because the speaker is not set to small and therefore does not receive any bass management.)
2) Subs in towers connected to LFE output of 950. In this scenario, you'd need to split the LFE output signal three ways (for the three subs - left tower sub, right tower sub, and dedicated subwoofer), the mains would be set to small, and all three subs would get redirected bass as well as LFE channel.
