Anyone running outlaw gear with newform speakers.I have a set of 645's I will be using for mains. Also I dont use a center chanel. Does the 950 have a setting for fantom center? I have been saving for a long time and I'm just about ready to order the 950/770 combo. but am curious how it will sound with these speakers.also what the difference will be from the 70 watt per chanel yamaha pro-logic receiver i'm using now. any replies will be appreciated!

There aren't many Newform users around here. I did a search of the forum and found posts from four people, two of whom hadn't actually gotten a 950 yet. Both Blaine and azryan use Newform with a 950 without any problems.

The 950 does include an option for disabling the center channel (under speaker config, you can set the center to large, small, or none).

I went from a Yamaha Pro-Logic receiver to an Outlaw 1050 to a 950/750, and each upgrade was very rewarding. Going from the Yamaha directly to the 950 should be a great upgrade -- in addition to the substantial benefits of Dolby Digital, DTS, and Pro Logic II (all of which are significant upgrades), the 950's sound should prove to be a great upgrade.

I don't know about your speakers but if you look here in the 950 Feedback forum you'll find "My 950/7100 review". I went from a 70w per channel Yamaha HTR-5150 to the 950/7100 and I'm still in shock over the improvements!! Give it a read. It should help with some of your questions. Hope this helps

Also, I didn't mention it last night, but if you haven't already downloaded and looked over the 950's manual I highly recommend it -- it's available here and can give you some good ideas of what it's capable of.

The saloon doesn't list e-mail addresses, and azryan hasn't been posting here lately. At one time, I believe that he was a regular at AVS Forum (where he also posts as azryan ), and I think that he still posts there somewhat regularly. A PM to him at AVS should reach him.
