I'm trying to build an IR receiver for my HTPC but the 950 remote doesn't seem to work with the IR module I have. Doers the remote operate at the standard 38 KHz frequency or does it use something else?

I assume that you're using the 950's remote to control the HTPC and running into trouble? The 950's remote is actually a Home Theater Master SL-9000 -- a very widely used universal remote -- and it should work fine for what you are doing. The SL-9000 manual offers more details than the 950's manual, and is available online here .
