Hi,
I'm a new use of a 950/770 combo and have noticed that when I use the 8 second repeat or the pause feature of TIVO there is a significant time delay between the restarting of the program and the audio to kick in (through the HT setup). With my older Denon receiver this was not a problem.
Any suggestions,
John

Yup. The 950 just takes some time to reacquire the signal. It's one of the quirks of the unit that you'll have to get used to.
You could lock the 950 into a single audio processing mode and, in so doing, override the detection sequence. But then you'll have to manually choose modes if your program material varies between two-channel, DTS, DD5.1, etc.

Another option would be to use the analog outs from your Tivo for regular viewing and use the optical for PPV movies or the music channels or whatever.... I use my "Tape" input as the digital input (on my mx-700 it's labeled D-Tivo) and the analog is running to the sat input... so regular viewing has all the usual tivo sound effects (may be a plus or a minus, depending on how you look at it)

Thanks,
I thought I "locked" the setting but after re-reading the manual again realized that I didn't do it right. I will try that, most everything is in Dolby II w/CR so doing the manual switch isn't a problem.
Thanks for the help,
John

Hi,
I tried the "lock" (to PCM) and it didn't make a difference. Weird, I didn't have this behavior before. I will try the analog cables next for non DD stuff.
Thanks,
John

Not weird. This is one of the eccentricities of the 950. It's just a tad slow at detecting digital signals.

Thanks,
I get it. Analog works great. I will just manually switch it when watching a movie in 5.1.
Thanks again,
John
