I read on another post that someone was able to use the 950 as the proccessor and use their current receiver as the amp. I have a 5 year old Sony receiver thats 100W channel x5 and rates at 4 ohm for front channel. If I can get going on having the 950 now...that would be great to get going until I save up the chang to get a 7100 to go with it. Thanks!

A five year old Sony may allow you to do this, as long as it has a 5.1 analog input. I posted this answer in the other thread just a minute ago:

It's not an ideal configuration, but it can be done -- if the receiver has a 5.1 analog input. If it does, you can connect the 950's pre-amp outputs to that input, select that input on the receiver, set the receiver's volume to one position and leave it there, and you have a crude but effective amp. Some receivers also include a set of direct amp inputs that bypass everything in the receiver and connect directly to the receiver's amp section. This is pretty rare, though.
