While I love my 950 there is one feature I really miss and hope the OUTLAWS add to their next units. My old HK receiver allowed me to program the unit to come on at a specific volume level. There have been times I have literally scared my self when I turn the unit on to listen to something and forgot I had previously watched a movie at -15db. My HK always came on at -40db as that is where I programmed it. Just a thought

My 950 has the same volume when it is turned on as it was when I last used it.

I agree that a volume default would be nice. I try to remember to turn the volume down even when switching inputs, but I have, on occassion, forgotten, and I worry I will blow a speaker (nothing to -15 in one burst can't be good). Receivers that have a stop at zero are easier to turn down than the digital control on the Outlaws. That said, I wouldn't trade the 950 for anything!

I'd also love to have the 950 come on at, say -40 db, just because you can never gurantee what state it was turned off in. My GF is not overly technical, and has turned the volume way up thinking the lack of sound was the Pre/Pro, when in fact it was the CD-player (it was paused), in frustration she turned it off. Enter me, a few hours later hitting AM/FM to turn it on...you can guess the rest, just glad my speakers survived.

Another feature I would like to see is direct tuning. We have the numbers on the keypad, I'd like to be able to use them to tune directly to a radio station instead of cycling up and down. Given that there are 32 presets, and I listens to a pretty wide variety of stations, sometimes I'd just like to be able to key in the station frequency directly. Just my 2 cents (1.5 cents )CDN.

Since we are discussing volumes, I'd love to see a gradual mute/unmute. This may even be accomplished with a PROM upgrade similar to the LFE fix. I'd be willing to pay a reasonable fee for such an upgrade. Maybe the programmed volume level at power up can also be incorporated into this upgrade.
