It's a good review, but it's a dude new to reviewing eqp and you can tell.

Do you really think that it is the exact same unit as the 950 ? There is a huge price difference.

The Sherbourn PT-7000 and Atlantic Tech P-2000 pre/pros are both the same design as the 950 (developed by Outlaw and the manufacturer Eastech, although Sherbourn and AT both may have had some input during that design process), with the differences in price being due to (1) part selection and (2) distribution channel. Both Sherbourn and AT reportedly use different grade components for portions of the unit, and both manufacturers sell through brick & mortar distributors rather than direct to the consumer through the Internet. Likewise, the Fosgate FAP T1 is based on the 950/Eastech chassis, albeit with a few additions (front panel LCD screen, extra component video input, video switching on zone 2) -- and it retails for "only" $3000. ------------------ gonk -- Saloon Links | Pre/Pro Comparison Chart | 950 Review

I agree, I am an electrical engineer, and looked at them with the covers off, and I couldn't see a difference other than minor cosmetic on the casing.
Boards all had same #'s, same components, etc.
I guess kinda like Chevy and GMC. A little nicer bow tie, but that is about it.

The new Adcomm GTP-880 prepro is also based on the 950. See it's favorable review in the March issue of Home Theater magazine on pg 66.

I did notice the GTP-880 has a different bass management setup. 3 position toggle with two functions that appear to be the same as the 950 with the additional switch position for "full bypass". Wish the 950 had that. Maybe next version.
