When I´m byamping my 1050 with my NAD 216 the output level on the 216 is MUCH higher than the output level from the 1050. This causes an unbalance in the bass/mid.tre sound. The 216 is connected to the 12' basses on my AR 312 speakers. If I connect the 216 to the tre/mid I got the other way around: VERY loud tre/mid and poor bass. My question is: Have the 1050 a very low output or is it the 216 who has an unnormal high output signal? I have tried to only use the 216 in "normal amping" but the 1050 is sounding much nicer but it hasen´t the bass capacity that the 216 have. I really like the power from my 216 and want to use it. When watching movies on DVD the missmatching bass/tre is very cool because you get really good bass effects but as I mostly listen to music it is very disturbing.
Thanks!

It sounds like you've identified the reason that people typically recommend bi-amping using the same amp (or same model of amp) for both low and high. Differences in amplifier design can really make for some wacky listening. I've had similar results using significantly different types of wire in a bi-wire arrangement. I'm not sure what the solution is, though, short of using either one or the other rather than both...

Use the 216 to power a big nasty subwoofer?

Or two?

Thanks for VERY quick reply!
My stepfather is using his 216 with a NAD 350 amp and it´s sounding extremely good and well balanced. It was in this way I thought my system would sound. Do someone have a good recomendation of what pawer amp to use instead? Maybe a 750? But it´s a little bit expensive. At the moment I´m using the 1050 alone and I´m not satisfied with the bass response.

You might try the Audiosource monoblocks.
They have a volume control and are available in various wattages to match the output of your system. I have used a pair on my rear surrounds with good results.

Since they have a volume control, you can easily dial in the bass volume to suit the room and your tastes. Approx investment
$400.00.
