I really like the Remote that comes with the 1050, but as with anything there are a few things that could be improved. First thing is: I have the Sat mode programmed for my Echostar receiver, but I cant change volume levels on the 1050 in that mode. I have to switch back to TNR mode. I know, I know, poor boy!! But it is a hassle because I always forget and it brings up a menu on the screen that I have to exit out of. The other thing is I can't find a code that works for my new JVC Prog scan DVD player.

You can program the remote to always operate the 1050's volume control regardless of the source the 1050 remote is operating. to do this, follow the "Changing the Volume Lock" directions on page 33.
