Well, both 755 and 770 can draw more than 10 amps. Exactly how much they draw is a subject of some debate. :-)

I wouldn't be surprised if what the salesman told you, Smart Little Lena, was correct. If the outlets brown out under heavy load that might do unpleasant things to a power amp. It almost certainly wouldn't sound nice.

When I said 10k with regard to amps, I didn't mean 10 amps, but meant more exotic amps. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh, you meant $10,000 amplifiers... I thought you meant 10-ampere drawing equipment...
