I have always used premade (i.e Monster) standard subwoofer cable with RCA connections. Anyone have experience using RG6 cable and using a wall plate "F" Jack to RCA Jack? Any issues with doing this? Thanks

edcon,
I posed this same question not to long ago when I was going to run new wire to my subs. Consensus was it was fine to do exactly what you are doing. It is working fine for me. Some people said they use 59 over 6 as it is more pliable.

Thanks Brad225,

I see the thread now, I overlooked. Thanks for the response. I am getting ready to move into a new home, which has been prewired for 7.1, and noticed they had terminated with F connectors for the sub. Good to know it will not be an issue because to run new wire would be very painful. Thanks again.

Actually for longer runs and lower capacitance, an RG-62 type coax works great- The PVC jacketed version is almost exactly the same OD as RG-59 & some RG-6 variants, and usually will fit most premium RCA connectors-

If the wire is too big for the RCAs, there are coax to RCA connectors available, though I cannot remember where I bought mine...just to be universally able to interconnect stuff years ago.
