I use Cobalt speaker cables myself and they do sound better than my previous monster cable, and are a great value.Plus, if you can't hide your cables, they look cool....

Yes they do. They are very well made. I was surprised that they sound better than the monster which costs almost two times as much..Goes to show that more expensive does not always mean better.

i was on a site recently looking at cables and the 'generic'(their high end) cables costing around $20(1/2 meter) a pair had connectors that were almost embarassing similar to my straightwires($200/pair) although the actual cable was different. i am talking about interconnects, not speaker.
shop around,don't pay too much.

I am set. Get all my Cobalts so I don't see me spending any more dough in the near future. My interconnects are all Outlaw, by the way. Speakers are Cobalt.

Cables seem to be an important part of the whole HT equation. I have been reading about several different speaker cable brands and am trying to decide what to buy. There are several brands that have good recommendations, but it is difficult to have a direct comparison of all of them. At what point am I throwing money into the wind? TMC speaker cables are costly, but will I tell a big difference between them and say Cobalt or Blue Jean or Better Cables or Ultralink? If money was no object I'd buy them all and test each. These will be pushing Ascend 170s.

Are there certain specs that are more important than others when reading about the "features" of different brands. They can all say they are low resistance, but what specs should I check?
