I recently purchased a set of 6 PCA cables to connect my multi-channel analog audio to my receiver and I must say, I don't like these locking connectors. I don't have big hands and yet I still have a terrible time tightening all six of them. The thing is, after you tighten down the first one, it immediately interferes with any of them you put on afterward. By the 6th one, I could barely get a grip on the barrel.

Does anyone have an opinion as to what kind of problems I might see if I merely left the locks loose? I think that even in this loosened state, the connections are no different from any standard RCA connector. Can anyone confirm this?

As long as there is contact between the jack and the plug, it doesn't matter if you lock the connector or not. If there is not contact, you will hear hum.

I recently switched my home theater receiver and decided to try my Outlaw interconnects with the locks tight versus loose and I could not hear a difference.

They are now loose.

My fingers are much happier.
