I have been looking for the new Y connectors from Outlaw that were promised for mid December 03. I have not seen them yet and was wondering when they will arrive.

I do not have any feedback on Y connectors but I do have some on Adire Audio product I saw in your home page. As a current owner of Adire’s Shiva, I can tell you that going with their subwoofer driver would be a wise choice. In fact you will be impressed with the performance of Shiva alone. Tumult is a few steps above Shiva and despite its hefty price tag, the spec of this monster is mind boggling. If you do end up getting it, please post a review on it. I’d love to hear what the experience is like.

Spiker,

May I ask you about your Shiva sub? Is it a DIY sub or the Adire Rava? I ask because I have two of the original Shiva drivers languishing in my hall closet and have begun playing with ideas for finally putting them to use. Am always curious to find out about how others have configured their Shiva subs.

Ellen:

I built mine from ground up based on “Shiva White Paper” in their website (adireaudio.com). It is down firing configuration on 5 cu ft (internal volume) enclosure with one 15 inch passive radiator. Interior surface is lined with acoustic sponge (looks like egg crate) and also it is stuffed with 4 pounds of polyfill. According to “Shiva White Paper” it is tuned to 17.3 Hz. That’s low enough for just about any music or movie. The sound? Tight, clean, sweet, powerful and ... etc, you name it. I couldn’t ask for more from a $450 subwoofer. A store bought subwoofer at this level will run you at least $1,200. There’s a big benefit of doing it yourself. I’m surprised not to hear more gunslingers going for Adire Audio.

You can order enclosures and amps from here.

Good luck and please let the gunslingers know how it went.

Hi MeanGene and Spiker,

As a proud owner of a Adire Deava which is a sealed system and uses the 15" Tempest woofer and the DT 300 plate amp in a 22" cube, I love it. and would not look for anything else unless it was a second one for stereo subs. I got mine built as the price was so reasonably ($599)I could not see any reasons to uilt it myself. Great people to do business with

Ellen,
Like Spiker, I used the "Shiva White Paper" from their website as the basis for my sub. I did heavily modify the shape to make it a coffee table. Check out some pictures:

Joe, it looks good, but I would recommend you get some magnetic chess pieces.

Wanting to b-amp Logans SL3's with 950-7100.Need to split front left and front right in order to do this.Am using Outlaw interconnects now and would like to use their Y connector.Anyone know if they are made by the same people who make their present cables?Cobalt Cable makes a Y but would rather wait and see the Outlaw version.

There's no picture of it that I can find on the site yet, but Outlaw has added a "PCA-Y adapter" to the order page , just above the sub cables, for $24.95.

Someone needs to post pics in here if they pick some of these up

I might be getting some, but I'd like to see them. I'm sure they are great, as are the rest of their cables, but seeing them would be nice.
