I plan on upgrading from the 1050 to the 950/7100 combo by 12/23/03. I need some feedback concerning the Outlaw 7 pack cables between the 950/7100. Are these cables sufficient or should I look into other cables? Also, how are outlaw cables for the 6 cables between my Denon 2200 DVD and the 950 for the direct connection. Your responses would be greatly appreciated. Ronrags

Outlaw's cables are quite good -- they should be fine for the 950-to-7100 connection and for your Denon 2200.

How do you like the Denon 2200, by the way?

Thanks for your quick response. I purchsed the 2200 and I'm still testing it out. I did an A/B comparison with my basic sony NS-325 dvd player and found only minor differences. There was very little diffence in the video portion, but that was not my main reason for buying the 2200. I wanted to jump into the SACD and DVD-audio market and I read many good reviews on the 2200. My speaker system consists of 6 matched KEF Q-series speakers and a Velodyne sub and the 1050 receiver.

As far as the audio portion, I made comparisons using the Diana Krall Live in Paris DVD and the Eagles concert DVD. I found the 2200 to be softer and less bright(more analog sounding)and less digital. The 2200 seemed more open, but the Sony sometimes seemed more detailed on certain tracks. Sometimes doing an A/B comparison can drive oneself crazy. So I invited my brother to compare and he had the same opinion. We both go back to the days(late '70's) when we both had KEF reference speakers and enjoyed the smooth sounding KEFs. I haven't tried the SACD since I'm waiting to buy the interconnect cables which is why I posted this topic. Ronrags

I have the same question regarding Outlaw cables to connect 950 to Denon 2900. I'm currently using Kimber Kable & Audio Quest but I need 3 more pairs for DVDA & SCAD 6-channel connection. Outlaw cables are unbeatable regarding value ($89 for 3 pairs) but I have to pay additional 1/3 of the price just for brokerage fee to bring those cables to Canada, and that's totally unreasonable.
