My Setup:
Yamaha DSP-A1 feeding Rear and Center Speaker
Pre-outs from DSP-A1 to Parasound Stereo Amp for feeding the Mains.
Front Speakers are Polk LSi15's, Center is the matching LSiC.
Rear Speakers are NHT 2.5i's
Sub is Velodyne FSR12.
ICBM is connected BETWEEN my DVD-A player and the DSP-A1's 6 channel analog inputs.
ALL speakers set to Large in DSP-A1.
I set all the controls on the ICBM to BYPASS and used AVIA to balance the sound levels with the Rat Shack SP meter.
2 Problems that I do not understand at all:
A) In AVIA Chapter 7-Low Freq Pink Noise,6 Chan Pan none of the sound is going to the SUB as expected EXCEPT for one.
When doing the Pan test, the sub comes active when the sound hits the Left Rear Speaker ONLY.
Any ideas what is going on here? This has me totally baffled.
B) Other problem is that during the Chapter 7 tests where it sequences between High Pink noise to each speaker and LFE to the sub,the Sub volume varies by as much as 10 DB as it sequences to each speaker.
I tried AVIA on my Sony DVD/SACD player as well as my Panny RP91 DVD-A (recabling and going through the ICBM of course) and I get the SAME oddball results.
Since I can not get the sub to 'behave', I have not bothered with setting the various crossover frequencies yet.
Sure would appreciate some advice/help/suggestions.
Thanks,
Joe
