I can't get my 755 to power on without using the 12V trigger. i recently had to put a yamaha receiver in the place of the 990 and the Yamaha does not have a trigger output. I disconnected the 12v trigger wire thinking the amp would just stay powered up when both the master switch and standby switch are in the "on" position. However, i cannot get the amp to respond. The green button on the front lights up, but I don't get the "Click" that I normally get when the amp is ready to use. Obviously, there is no sound. When I put current on the 12v trigger, the amp fires right up. Any thoughts?

Hmmm... If it thinks there's a trigger connected (which it will if there's a trigger cable connected), it won't come on without that signal. If you remove the trigger cable, you should be able to turn it on manually from the front panel. You may have tried this, but I'd start out by removing the trigger cable, turning the rear panel power off, turning the rear panel power back on, and then pressing the front panel power button.

Thanks Gonk. Strangely, with no 12V trigger cable connected (i.e. physically removed from the amp) I cannot get the amp to come on. The green light comes on, but I don't get the "Click" that the amp is ready to go. Connect the cable and put 12V current and CLICK, good to go. Very strange. Does anyone know how this circuit works and whether there would be an easy bypass?

Do you still get sound from the amp without that "click"? Because I wonder (purely guessing here) if that click isn't simply a relay inside related to the trigger.

No sound if no "Click". I'm just thinking there might be an easy workaround. I hate to have to send this in for something so simple.

There's something simple going on here, I'm sure. We're just not seeing it.

One simple solution (assuming the Yamaha has a switched AC outlet) is an AC adapter, which can serve as a 12V trigger. There's something about operating without a trigger cable that I think is in the back of my mind - you might be able to get some good suggestions from a question to Outlaw\'s support page .
