I am in the procces of upgrading my music and hometheater amp section. I currently have a marantz 18ex receiver and i want to add a five channel amp to the mix.
what would be a better deal? To get a used Rotel RMB 1095 or a new Outlaw 755? I listen to music 60% and 40% movies.
My speakers are Paradigm 100v3, 570v3 and energy surrounds(my next upgrade) and svs sub.
Any comments or information will be greatly appreciated.

i have quite a bit of respect for Rotel, but would give Outlaw the edge for value. no need to waste money on an amp that is no better.

My experience with Rotel amps has been luke warm. They aren't bad, but certinaly not worth the premium over equivalent gear like the Outlaw multichannel amps.
Originally, when I was designing my home theater system, I wanted to just get a few more Adcom GFA-5802 amps. However, that failed both the spouse approval rating and the power available (for the moment) at the wall outlet.
Cheers,

I purchased a 755 and a 950 used for $1300.00. Outlaw tranferred the warranty on both items. I sold the 950 for $500.00, when my 990 arrived. I agree with Wayne, my 755 for $800.00 is the best and wisest purchasing decision I have ever made, except maybe for the two B Stock M200 from Outlaw.

Ebay can be trouble for some folks - the appeal of a good deal on something they want gets overcome by a desire to simply have it, and they just get carried away with the usual last-minute one-upmanship until it's near retail price. Why people can't, like you, put a set value on something up front is beyond me, but sellers sure dig it!
