A friend of mine came over yesterday and brought with him a couple of toys. He had a BBE Sonic Maximizer and a 2x200watt Carver THX amp. We messed around a with it a bit and here are my findings. We listened to everything in 2 channel stereo with my speakers set to large.

1. The 1050 seemed to have just a smidge less power than the Carver. I was surprised about this. I noticed no difference in the quality of the sound being produced - even at earbleeding levels.

2. We hooked in the BBE unit via analog connections. We listened for a while with it on and then turned it off and it sounded, well, it sounded awful. Say it ain't so! Have I been listening in the dark for this long?

3. I finally calibrated my speakers and man does it make a huge difference. It was like night and day.

4. Setting the phase in/out on my subwoofer makes no sense to me. We ran the test on the Avia DVD and I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two settings.
