Bear in my mind that it is just my humble opinion, but I find that the DTS soundtracks exhibit greater surround "presence" and most musical scores appear to have a clarity that DD tracks don't seem to have. Maybe they run it a bit hotter, but it just sounds crisper to me. Like Wingnut, I prefer the DTS format to DD everytime. The only disappointing DTS track I've heard has been the Blade Trinity disc - and that was ES. Not that it was audibly inferior. It just wasn't what I expected to hear from a DTS track, but I'm getting off topic.

war of the worlds sucked. i didnt like the movie and the sound effects were overly bassy. my gf liked it ok, but i just wasnt into it at any point. it seemed like it was grasping for something that it never got. plus the filming made the movie look old which was distracting. nothing stood out in the movie. the acting was average to below-average. the effects were poor (its a freaking sci-fi and every shot of the tripods is slightly blurred without detail). the storyline sucked. it was long and not very good. pretty much a waste of time imo.

I thought the bass in that movie was awesome. I actually felt like I was there with the stuff crashing. I'm glad it just wasn't me though. I have two LFM-1's. smile So...I think my house moved a few inches on it's foundation. wink

The movie itself (the story/acting) was pretty sub-par, but it's a great movie to demo a subwoofer. 8-)

Another good movie of that genre is the depth charge scenes in U-571.

Cheers,
