While maybe not containing the most compelling plot, this movie is jammed with 5.1 ear-candy as well as phenomenal surfing footage. Not only is it a great home theater demo (the only non-violent one I can think of), it is also a nice flick for a cold winter's evening.

Yes I have and agree! The wave action was a workout for the sub. The camera work was incredible. Some of the CG to place the actors in place of stunt surfers was obvious but it was also clear that you can't fake surfing and some of the wipeouts were intense.

What the hell! Surfing! Good looking women, and a cold brew. What more could a guy want?

Just rented it, and I must say I am very impressed with the film. No the story isn't great, and the acting is so-so, but the cinamatography is amazing. I'll never look at surfing the same way.

Definatly worth a rent...even if you aren't a batchelor.

I too thought this was well photographed movie. Pretty good bass for the sub too. Not to mention the elevated libido from the bikinis.
