Congrats on your choice of the 1050!
As you'll find out when you receive it, the 1050 handles Pro Logic VERY well. I had a Sony ES receiver prior to the 1050 and was blown away by the difference it made in the Pro Logic decoding from Laserdisc and VHS. Wait until you get a DVD player. Then you'll really see what it can do. __________________

Welcome to the club!
I think you are going to like the 1050. I popped in Star Trek First Contact (VHS) the other day. I could not believe the difference from my old processor. And like the others said DD is fantastic.

Mayor D, if ya have a digital out (optical or coax) on your DirecTV receiver, make sure you use it to hook up to the 1050. That way any of those great 5.1 broadcasts actually come across that way!
