Does the 1050 decode Dolby Digital EX?
How many DACs does it have? What Bit? What kHz?
What about DPL and DPL II?
Sorry for all the blunt questions, I have not seen this info posted on the site.

DPL yes, DPL II, no.
DD yes, DD-EX, no. It does do a proprietary 6th channel matrix decoding for DD that many people think is just as good as DD-EX.
6 DACs, I believe they are 24/96.

It's the 6th channel of DTS-ES that the 1050 can't detect/decode. ------------------ pat----email: pat@sklenar.info ---===--- home page: Grumpy's Lair

Matthew and Pat are both right -- the 1050 does have support for Dolby EX, using the "6.1 Surround" processing. It's not official Dolby, but it sounds as good. You might be interested in the pre/pro and receiver chart if you want more info on the 1050. ------------------ gonk -- Saloon Links | Pre/Pro Comparison Chart | 950 Review

True, I didn't mean to say that it doesn't recognize the DD-EX flag, only that it doesn't have the official DD-EX decoding algorithm built into it.

Fire up StarWars PM to check out the DD-ex / 6.1 mode, Sounds great.
BTW, Any other DD-ex movie titles you regulars here on the Outlaw BB would recommend ? I just do not seem to see very many Dd-ex titles at the stores.

Go to Dolby's website for a complete list of EX encoded titles.
