Keep in mind that the current HDMI standard won't carry SACD or audio from high definition DVD (either Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, or a third unified format that may still happen), and when support for these is added to HDMI in the future it is very likely that existing HDMI 1.1 inputs will not be compatible. That would make the 4806's HDMI inputs' only benefit over the 1070's DVI inputs the ability to upconvert - you'd still need to run six (or eight) analog cables from a high def disc player. If the budget allows for the Denon, then it is a good candidate. Many people, however, can't afford to make the step up from ~$1,000 to $3,000+, and for them the 1070 offers something the Denon doesn't - a price tag they can afford.
