Just got the latest Outlaw newsletter. It didn't mention any new product but did say Outlaw will be at the Home Entertainment Show in New York this month.

That sucks. I was hoping they would say something. I'm looking to replace my receiver this summer and I can wait to the end of the year if I could get some info about a new receiver from outlaw.

If they follow past patterns, we'll see a newsletter around the time of the HE show with details on whatever announcements they make at the show. Probably about two weeks from now?

I just got an email for the new newsletter. I'm assuming that the 1050 is what Outlaw's first product was (I can't remember) so that the update for the 1050 is one of the two new products. What does everyone think the other new product is? I'd say it could either be a front projector, or a universal DVD player finally, but those are just random guesses.

I'm not sure but I hope the replacement for the 1050 has component upconversion or it looks like denon for me.

I want that too, but how many units do have it nowadays?

Are there two products coming out sometime? I'd feel pretty safe guessing the 1050's replacement as one. For the other, what are the odds of a 950 replacement or more high-end version?

The newsletter mentioned for sure a 1050 replacement - that's a given, but what about the other hint's. A high-end 950 doesn't make sense for their (Outlaws) market level and performance spec's as exhibited for other products. Related to cables - maybe a general purpose video switcher at a reasonable price - possible. My dream for the past 3 years has been a quality DLP projector at a reasonable price ($2K to $3K) and high-performance specs without the "bricks-and-mortar" stores mark-up - not likely. A versatile DVD video and audio player/recorder is a possibility.

I just came from the HEexpo 2004 in New York and saw the Outlaw room. The three new items they unveiled where: 1) I believe the replacement for the 1050 - an av receiver with 75wpc,, 7.1, and has a DVI switcher built-in. Price was quoted as being less than $1000. 2) A 300wpc X 7 channel amp with balanced inputs. 3) A 2 channel amp specifically designed for audio.
