a good 2 channel amp would be nice... it would be great to power a couple of passive subs.

I agree. There is still a lot of life left in two-channel. A powerful, quality amp under $500 might be a winner. After all, Adcom and Parasound do it.

Wanting a good 2 ch amp to be used for sub amplification sounds contradictory, since the trend for sub amplification in the HT world seem to be get the amp with the highest wattage, no matter how it sounds.

So should the outlaw 2 ch amp go in the path of junks like Fidek or something of higher quality than their multichannel counterpart?

A 2channel amp would be nice for powering a big pair of mains. The bad thing about a 5channel amp is that alot of power ends up going two your surrounds. Well maybe some people don't want so much power going to their surrounds because maybe their surrounds can't take 200 watts of power.

You need a 2 channel amp with A+B option to drive external zones. It should interconnect nicely with the multi channel products and enable the user to select any playback unit for listening in any or all zones.

I like the idea of a two channel amp for powering mains. That way you could use your mains for listening to music and just power on the two channel amp, instead of powering three to five extra channels for no reason.

Agreed. Plus, you could afford to go with something a bit larger, say 350x2, while keeping with the 200x5 for the surrounds. You could put them on separate circuits so as not to have to worry about angering your fuse box.

I am looking for a good subwoofer amplifier myself. If you guys do go ahead and make a 2 channel amp, please make sure its bridgable and don't put all that crossover crap on it. I wanna do a servo feedback and throwing crossovers in there dorks around with the phase not to mention having like 16 Hz highpasses when the speaker will go down to 10 Hz. I have had problems when the output phase isn't about 0 degrees with the input phase. So try and make sure it doesn't mess up the phase also!!! <:

I'd think they would make it in line with their existing amps which, unless I'm mistaken, do nothing but amplify. No bells or whistles or useless gadgetry of any sort. Isn't that what the receiver/pre-pro is for?

Your preaching to the choir Owl. But go check out inexpensive amps, they always gotta throw in crossovers and stuff. I don't want to spend a few grand on a 2 channel subwoofer amplifier just to have the luxory of no junk on my amp. All I want is a decent well designed amp with no frills.
