When I was about to Enter college, I went with some friends to hear Eric Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Perform at Tri-County shopping center near Cincinnati.This was back when Max Rudolf was CSO's principal conductor and Kunzel was assistant. The concert was very enjoyable.
As a young adult, I often heard Kunzel condunting the Friday night series with Cincinnati Symphony and occasionally the Saturday night Pops , I never left disapointed.
As I grew older and further from Cincinnati, I always saw, and ocasionally heard, Kunzel's Telarc CDs and SACDs , and though Pops isn't my thing ,I see that I have 12 of Kunzel's discs in my collection.
We'll miss Meastro Kunzel.
