Probably most folks will disagree with me here, but I think the Outlaw/Oppo combo really makes sense. When you can make a source component like the Oppo what is the point of a surround processor? Room correction is probably the only feature left. I sure would like to see a return to analog only pre/pro. Let the DVD player do all the decoding and keep the pre/pro clean and simple. Never happen, but I like it a lot.

I agree that the combination of Model 970 (serving as an analog pre-amp) and BDP-83 is really appealing. The 970/7075/83 combo also looks like a killer package from a value standpoint, and I can see that system being able to beat out any number of similarly priced Blu-ray/receiver combos.
