I've encountered a marvelous thing for those of you who are JS Bach lovers called "THE BACH EDITION" it's everything JS ever wrote on 155 discs and you can pick on up for a little over $100 at Best Buy( call it 65cents a disc. I can't make back-up copies for that).
By far and large, the recordings sound pretty good, ain't no Yo Yo Ma and Glenn Gould obviously, but , for the most part quite pleasant. I'll take a personal exception to a substantial number of trhe Cantantas recorded by the Holland Boy's Choir which aren't really awful, but would sound much better with mature female voices. ( Pediofiles would probable love these, But I'll avoid obvious refrences)
Biggest problem with this set is the disc quality. I've ben through about 50 or 60 of these things so far and hqve found 3 tht go into some kind of loop on the last track that sounds like a 33 1/3 that got stock. I can't put a nicklr on top of my laser as I would have on my tonearm. so this is a problem. A second problem is if you want to stick these things on your hard drive. I haven't yet found any internet based repository that recognizes the disc and will supply the various discopgrphy. Not a big deal for me, because I've gor a couple of Sony Ex megachangers, but I don't look forward to typing all of this stuff in.
That said, for $.65 a gisc , what can you expect, and where else would I ever find this music.
That said, They also offer a Mozart edtion of @180 discs that you can glum on to at Best buy for about 130 bucks. Inspite of the foibles, I'll buy that one also and I'll anticipate the same problems.
Sorry for the long post, but Bach and Mozart lovers have got to check these out and shouldn't have unrealistic expectations.
I'll also apologise for the spelling, I'm not mutch of a typist. We need spell check on these things( Hey Scott).

Koyaan,
Interesting find. But i'll probly stick to Telarc or some other pressings.
also the Mazilla Firefox for a web browser. It is free and has spell checking built in. Nice.
