Yes. To use the multichannel analog output with the 990, you would want to leave the digital output set to raw and make the changes I listed above in the speaker setup page.
You have to have an analog connection to get SACD, but you can use just the left and right (in which case I'd set the "downmix" option to "2CH"). SACD's will not play at all over digital output. DVD-A will play as a downmixed two-channel, but SACD won't even do that.
