They're probably cousins in some regard, at least, since Outlaw has worked with HSU on their subs ever since the LFM-1. I suspect that Outlaw stuck with their bottom porting configuration, though, which differs from HSU's rear ports (which Dr. Hsu hangs on to in part because it is the only way for his turbo add-on to work).

So what is the deal that is supposed to "knock our eyes out"? Still a mystery to me at this point. Anyone have any ideas?

Go figure, I've been waiting forever for Outlaw to put out a sub somewhere in-between the LFM-1 and LFM-2. I finally broke down and got and LFM-1 Plus because of the great price break and now out comes the 10" compact. I was waiting for the wife to flip out when I dragged the box in the front door. But she liked the appearance when I opened it. I'm sure I won't be disappointed with the performance.

The "knock your eyes out" part of the show was the Sony Qualia 70-inch SXRD rear screen projector We have access to the remaining inventory of arguably the best rear screen set ever built. They were originally $14,000 and we offered one at the show for $5995. Visitors to our room were taken with the astounding picture. (We were running a Blu-ray presentation of Planet Earth) We will discuss more of that with our show wrap-up newsletter.

Did you see the dimensions for that monster? 9.5" tall and 19.5" deep - makes the 990's hugeness seem merely a tad big by comparison. smile That's a whole lotta amp...

By the way, I checked out Tom Norton\'s "Best of Show" remarks and noticed this comment: "Outlaw Audio clearly won the home theater prize"

I think the only things we really haven't heard from the show are when the LCR's might start shipping and what this year's "Outlaw Tschotska" was. I suspect that one or both might crop up in the wrap-up newsletter that Peter mentioned this morning.

I re-iterate ... I think a real foundation might be required ... similar to one to support a soapstone fireplace! smile

So what's the difference between my LFM-1 Plus and the new LFM-1 EX?

It looks like the LFM-1 EX is using a larger enclosure (2" wider and 2" deeper), for one thing. Check out this press release for details. There's also a press release for the LFM-1 Compact .
