I found plastic caps at home depot,I think they are for covering hole in computer decks or something,in my local home depot they were in the hardware department in draws for small hardware and come two to four in a little plactic bag.

In my experience, RCA caps have never passed the litmus test of affecting sonic character of any prepro or receiver I've owned or tested. However... that being said, over time dust and static and general grit gets on the damned jacks, and I find myself needing the clean the things periodically before something decides to nest in them. To that end, I've used caps that come on f-jacks (ie splitters) and they've worked OK - when they fit, which is about half the time.
Bill O, that's a nice find - cheap and does the job.

there you go Bill O,I was just going to use them to keep the dust and stuff out.I didn't think it would effect the sound, although in another outlaw forum the clever little clocks caused Gonks engineering degree to turn itself over in it's frame

I am using the caps to keep dust out.I have 3 fans running constantly in my rack.( Seems everything I own runs very warm.)I did notice lots of collected dust on those rca jacks. I also sometimes re-configure some of my ever changing system.I have actualy pluged the right RCA cable into the wrong jack on my reciever. With the plugs I will elimate pluging into wrong jacks, and save myself time and embarrasment.
