Play with the "SELECT" button on the remote some (along with the four "arrow" buttons, I think -- I'm working from memory and a copy of the manual only as I'm at work right now). You'll find that you can set levels for the center and different surround speakers there (totally unrelated from the volume of the 1050). The idea is to get 75dB on one of the main speakers using the volume control, and then set the channel output levels up or down for the center and surround speakers so they also give 75dB.
