NAD's got a pretty solid reputation, but I suspect the T163 will cost you more while giving you fewer features than the 990 and probably sounding no better (if as good). The 990 offers several things the T163 lacks: balanced outputs (which could be used with the 7500 if you chose to do so), DVI switching, four separately adjustable crossover points (mains, center, surrounds, and rear surrounds - the T163 has a single adjustable crossover that is applied to all small speakers), and individual speaker distance adjustment for all eight outputs (the T163 lumps mains together, surrounds together, and rear surrounds together and doesn't offer a distance setting for the sub at all). The T163 also appears to lack Dolby Headphone processing, although a firmware update did add Pro Logic IIx. Lastly, the T163's video switching appears to be a bit less sophisticated than the 990's - the OSD menu (which you must have access to when setting the unit up) is not displayed on the T163's component outputs, and composite and s-video inputs do not appear to be transcoded to component.
The T163 does offer one interesting feature, and that is presets - up to five of them, each of which remembers all of the main menu settings. For most users, this would be useless, but I can see some folks using this to toggle between different bass management arrangements for different types of material.
I'd probably be hard pressed to vote for the NAD. The amp is less powerful that the Outlaw amp, the processor lists for $400 more than the 990 and lacks a number of features that the 990 offers, and my suspicion is that the 990 will sound at least as good as (if not better than) the T163.
