Are any of you Outlaws using a Direct TV HD DVR?
I have a Zenith sat-520 right now. I have tried 2 DVR's with it and neither will integrate with satellite and off air signal. I am now looking for a new sat. receiver. The only one I have been ably to find is made my Hughes. Is anyone using this or another unit?

As far as DirecTv goes, the HR10-250 is the only game in town. I owned a Zenith 520 for about a year before selling it on ebay and picking up the 250. I haven't regretted it for a minute and I bought it when it was closer to $1K.

Do you think the picture is as good as the 520?
I paid about $700 for the 520 and will be lucky if I can sell it for $100 on eBay, but that's just the nature of the addiction. If you think the quality is the same I'll make the switch.

The picture may be a little better when using the HDMI output. When using the component, it's at least as good. The 520 has VGA output, right? I think that's what I was using when I had mine. Quality wise it's not a downgrade if that's a concern.

My HDMI port has quit working which is a common problem with the 250's. DirecTv has replaced it 3 times. The third time the HDMI port was working fine for 6 months or so, then went a little crazy after I upgraded the drive to a 400gb. So I've been using the component outputs and I'm happy with the picture.

If you haven't done so, you should check out the tivo community forum. They have lots of good and bad points about the 250. I can't live without Tivo, so the good points far out weigh the negatives.
