Before heading across the parking lot to get a much-needed hair cut at lunch today, I took a little time to wander through the web browser and turned up two rather interesting articles: one from Ultimate AV reporting
an official cut-off date for analog TV broadcasts (February 18, 2009 - my daughter's fourth birthday will be the last day any stations can broadcast an analog TV signal), and one from ShackNews about
the first Blu-Ray drive for PC\'s (coming from Pioneer, it will write to single-layer BD-R and BD-RW discs as well as DVD-R and -RW, plus it will read dual-layer BD-ROM). Expect the Pioneer drive to show up at CES and be available to PC makers in the US market in the first quarter of 2006.
Not surprisingly, it looks like 2006 will be an interesting year for new technologies.
