Anyone know of a cooling fan with a 12 volt trigger I could use with a 7100/950 combo?

No, but there are plenty of 12V fans with little thermistors available that can very the voltage to the fan based on temperature. See your local l33+ PC modder for details. 8-) You may also be able to get a thermistor of that type from the Rat Shack to work with an AC powered fan.

Cheers,

it would be a pretty simple project if you have any DIY running through your veins.shouldn't even cost $50:relay,fan,power supply.

So the relay would power on/off with the 950? and how would I hook it up? Also are you having or had any overheating shutdowns with an Outlaw amp?

So Ritz, This would function like a thermostat & come on with varible speed cooling? The hotter, the more voltage sent to the fan?

use the 12 volt trigger to activate the relay, use the contacts on the relay to turn on the power supply.

i use a 1050 to feed a b&k amp.i have no overheating issues and i just aim a little personal fan at the rack when i do agressive and extensive jamming.(which is what i would do,temporarily,if i was you)

i did have a technics receiver that would shut down from heat, and it had a temp. controlled fan built in.

Brett,

Yup. As temp goes up it feeds more voltage to the fan...speeding it up.

Cheers,
