I'm sure there are a large number of people here that will be selling their 1050's as soon as their 950 arrives. I'm a full time student and also an audio enthusiast. This kills any hopes of buying brand new equipment...well I could but then I would have no book money. (maybe thats not such a bad idea...). In any event, I'd *LOVE* to get a 1050 at a rock bottom price.

Not to put a cramp in your style, but used 1050s have historically not lost much of their value. You'd probably be hard pressed to find one below $400. You may want to get a B-stock unit from Outlaw; that would run you $450. Even at the full $500, though, it's STILL a steal.

I suspect that once the 950 starts shipping, we'll begin to see 1050's appear on Audiogon and eBay in larger numbers (they are currently a little rare -- there were two posts on Audiogon looking to buy a 1050 for $350 the last time I checked). I have someone interested in my 1050, but if that falls through (he has to get his wife to agree to spend the money) I'll probably put an ad on Audiogon and let folks here know about it. I suspect that others may do the same.

I know I'm not going to find one for $100 or anything, but $350 beats $450 when you've got no spending money to start with. And I'm sure they will show up on Ebay and Audiogon etc but I was hoping to cut out the middleman.

That extra $100 savings can go a long way, and I expect that there will be some 1050's around soon. Audiogon's classifieds are not much of a middleman (even less so than their auctions). Hopefully you'll have a chance to get your hands on one soon for a good price.

Does anyone have a clue as to how many 1050's are in general circulation? That would be interesting to find out.

I will not sell mine. Who knows, the 1050 might be a collector's item!

That's a really good question actually. If I do manage to find a used one, will I have a valid warranty of any kind?
