ok, i'm not one to pussyfoot around stereos,but wow!i'm tryin' to do some decent 2 channel and 6.1 and the wires are just turnin' into snake nest nomatter what.any help on organizers or anything . i group,gather, whatever it still just seems to me different cables/cords shouldn't be that close together.

In my experience, interconnects (analog and digital) can be pretty closely gathered without problems, although I do try to route power and speaker cables as separately as possible (especially power cables). I don't have much advise on organizers - I've had good luck nailing velcro wire ties to the back of the old entertainment center as a way of controling power cable routing and getting the rear of the cabinet as open as possible is a big help, but that's about all I've done.

One other thing I did in my old rack was collect all the power cords on one side and route them up the side of the rack and over the top of the equipment, then over to the power conditioner (which was on the opposite side of the entertainment center due to some space constraints I had). This made it easier to keep power cords from crossing interconnects and speaker wires. FWIW...

theres no great cable management method. i too try to keep power away from ics as much as possible. they do make that black corrugated tubing with a slit in it, that could accomodate several wires and then ziptie or twist tie it off in sections... generally cable management is more for convenience than audio quality.

MOST of my interconnects are away from power cords as much as possible but most of my speaker cables seem to be pretty close to power cords.
i wouldn't think speaker to power would be as critical but just want to be sure.there sure do seem to be alot of cables accumulating and i have what would be considered a small system(with BIG sound in a small room).i dig it!

If for some reason you do have to cross cable with power cords you should trya nd do so at right angles. Jim
