Politics. They are stuffing the ballots in Florida again. One solution is to establish hundreds of e-mail accounts, and create alias' for yourself on the Outlaw site. Then vote your way to the top.

Perhaps there is some sort of Aaron Burr vs. Alexander Hamilton solution here. If someone disses you, you can challenge them to a duel. A section of the Saloon DEADicated to Gunslingers who want to blast away at each other for an hour. The clear looser (judged by the Outlaws) gets banished from the site, and is effectively dead.

The option of using real weapons, in a Outlaw Gladiator Showdown Pay-for-View Event, would be of interest to me also. Secretly fixed of course... so if you were losing, we would just release a couple of lions and reach for the popcorn.

That is just awesome, "High noon at the Outlaw Corral". A pair of Gunslingers, or even a group, that have just come to realize that this posting board aint big enough for the both of them. Can't you just hear the theme from, "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" in the background? HILARIOUS!!!

The profile also tells you how you rated others... so the data is in the system for the Outlaws to see.

I suppose the Outlaws thought it was a good idea to have a rating system that encourages good behavior in the Saloon. I am not so sure it will work in a forum like this one. However, I am sure the Outlaws are getting a pretty good picture of the Dissers hidding behind the curtain. THEY'RE WATCHING YOU, YOU DISSERS.

Perhaps the Outlaws could "out" a habitual disser once in a while. Then let the bullets fly... like when Big Pussey took his last boat trip with the boys... :p

stars are kind of silly if you ask me, i do like the other new things about the forum though.

I deactivated mine. It's not really a bad idea, but I think it's better without it. What's popular is not always right, and what's right is not always popular. Going against popularity can be a good way to bring your rating down and end up lessening the spread of sound knowledge.

I tend to agree that the star ratings are a bit of a liability. I've disabled mine too.

Actually, my feelings were hurt - I actually felt embarrassed that SH had felt it necessary to remove the thread rip and pass it on thread, and I actually pm'ed SH and apolgized if I made him angry. However, I didn't bump down his rating, mainly because I respect his opinions, and his feelings - and I didn't see a point.
